Jordan Carstens was a walk-on at Iowa State, where he majored in Agricultural Business. He earned academic first-team All Big 12 Conference honors his freshman year and academic first-team Academic All-American awards every year after, among many other honors, such as first-team All-Big 12 Conference defensive lineman. He played for the Carolina Panthers for the 2004-2006 seasons and was forced to retire due to injuries. He currently is a farmer of corn, soybeans, and hogs.
