(Hastings, NE) Tractor Tuesday is excited to announce that Fort Hays State University football player Jonah Smith has signed a Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deal to become a brand ambassador. Tractor Tuesday is an online auction platform for producers, empowering equipment owners with the tools to successfully represent and sell their own equipment. This collaboration is a great fit, bringing together an incredible student-athlete with a company dedicated to supporting athletes from agricultural backgrounds.

Jonah Smith was an outstanding football player in high school, being an All-State selection for both offensive and defensive line. In addition to his success on the field, Jonah excelled in the classroom, earning a 4.0 GPA his whole life and being class valedictorian. His success has carried over into college, where he starts as a defensive tackle for the Fort Hays Tigers. He has also made the MIAA Academic Honor Roll three times and been on the Dean’s Honor Roll every semester. Jonah is the epitome of what it means to be a true student-athlete.

Growing up, Jonah’s family managed a 20,000-acre farming and ranching operation. He was brought out to work in a baby carrier by his dad when his mom was busy and recounted that, “As soon as I could walk, I never missed an opportunity to go to work with my dad.” Jonah said, “I believe there is no better way to grow up or to raise a family,” as “working hard and seeing it pay off is a valuable lesson that translates to every aspect of life later on down the road.” He attributes his success to the values and morals instilled in him growing up in the agriculture industry. Jonah was inspired by Jordy Nelson, a Kansas “farm kid” who went on to play in the NFL, but would return home to farm in the offseason.

After Jonah graduates from FHSU, he plans to become a Physician’s Assistant to work alongside surgeons to help get injured athletes back on the field. He plans always to stay connected to agriculture and one day settle down and start a family with his own cowherd. “I will never leave the agriculture industry, as it has been such a big part of my life,” Jonah said.

Jonah is excited to be a brand ambassador for Tractor Tuesday, representing the company in various marketing campaigns and community outreach initiatives. “There is no better way to advocate for the agriculture industry than to be recognized as a Farm Athlete and use this platform to the best of my ability,” Jonah said. “It helps me to shed light on all of the good things farm kids are doing not only in sports but in the world.

“I’m excited that we were able to sign Jonah as a Farm Athlete,” said Zach Bosle, CEO of Tractor Tuesday. “He is a talented athlete, an excellent student, and a great advocate for agriculture, which is exactly what we’re looking for in our brand ambassadors.”

This NIL deal underscores Tractor Tuesdayโ€™s commitment to creating opportunities for college athletes from farm and ranch backgrounds, helping them succeed in their athletic careers while staying connected to their roots.
