(Hastings, NE) Tractor Tuesday is excited to announce that Iowa State University linebacker Rylan Barnes has signed a Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deal to become a brand ambassador. Tractor Tuesday is an online auction platform for producers, empowering equipment owners with the tools to successfully represent and sell their own equipment. This collaboration is a great fit, bringing together an incredible student-athlete with a company dedicated to supporting athletes from agricultural backgrounds.
Rylan attended West Hancock High School in Iowa, where he was a State Champion, All-State, and All-District. He was a walk-on at Iowa State, where he red-shirted his freshman year. Now, in his first year of play with the currently undefeated Cyclones, he has gotten off to a stellar start. In their recent victory over West Virginia, which was Rylan’s first game as a starter, he had an incredible nine tackles. Rylan is also performing well in the classroom, making the 2023 Big 12 Commissioners Honor Roll.
Rylan grew up on an around 800-acre century owned family farm outside of Crystal Lake, Iowa. He appreciates how growing up on a farm taught him the value of hard work and being part of something bigger than oneself. He also learned other important lessons, saying, “Growing up in an agricultural family taught me to be adaptable. Farming is full of unpredictable challenges where you need to be able to think quickly and act fast.” Rylan plans to return to his family farm to keep helping out once he is done with college.
Rylan is excited to be a brand ambassador for Tractor Tuesday, representing the company in various marketing campaigns and community outreach initiatives. He said, “Being recognized as a Farm Athlete and brand ambassador for Tractor Tuesday means a lot to me because it shows how agriculture and athletics go hand in hand. I’m proud to help bring attention to the vital role farmers play in feeding the world.”
“I think it is absolutely great that we were able to get Rylan on the team,” said Zach Bosle, CEO of Tractor Tuesday. “Not only is he a great football player, but he comes from a family that has been farming the land for generations. He’s a great representative for our company and Farm Athletes.”
This NIL deal underscores Tractor Tuesdayโs commitment to creating opportunities for college athletes from farm and ranch backgrounds, helping them succeed in their athletic careers while staying connected to their roots.
